What happened to Spring?
This year, it seems as though Spring didn't exist, with Winter lasting well into May and all of a sudden we've had a week of 20+ degrees. It feels a lot like Summer already!

With that in mind, Tourism Whistler has released their newsletter with a list of important upcoming events and activities! As usual, the calendar is jam packed. For a complete list of events, head to the Tourism Whistler website and read their latest newsletter.

Farmer's Market May 21st - October 8th (weekly)
Whistler Farmers' Market is back for another year. Taking in the lovely fresh air of the mountains, this open air market promotes local produce from the Sea to Sky Corridor. Featuring tasty artisan foods, local artists, refreshing beverages and live entertainment, the markets are a great day out for the family. Open twice a week throughout the summer, the markets are the perfect place to find food for a picnic or a unique present for someone special. Starting weekly on Sunday's from May 21st the event opens up a second day, Wednesday, starting July 5th.

ThinkBike June 1st - 4th
Formely known as "Outerbike", ThinkBike offers the opportunity to test ride brand new bikes on Whistler’s trails and see how the latest technology stands up to British Columbia's world famous terrain. It's the ultimate Whistler vacation on wheels, with bikes, guides, bike park passes and social events included. There's no better introduction to Sea to Sky biking out there.

Whistler Half Marathon, June 3rd
The Whistler Half Marathon has something for everyone! From the traditional half marathon for those really wanting to push themselves, or a kids run to get those youngsters involved. Head to their website to see what other events are available, there truly is something for everyone in this years edition.

Tough Mudder, June 17-18
If you like mud, pain and suffering this is one event you don't want to miss this Summer! Back for another year in the beautiful Coastal Mountains of British Columbia, the military-style Tough Mudder brings three events over one spectacular weekend featuring two days of Tough Mudder, the Tough Mudder Half and - new for 2017 - the overnight endurance event known as Canada's Toughest Mudder. Think you've conquered the Whistler mud run already? Think again. Choose your challenge, tee up your team, set up camp in Whistler and get ready to experience the ultimate obstacle course in rugged Whistler Olympic Park.

Subaru Ironman, July 30th
Calling all athletes - preparation has begun for the 2017 Subaru IRONMAN® Canada triathlon in Whistler and Pemberton! Take up the challenge and swim, bike and run through Whistler’s beautiful lakes, roads and trails. As this is a large event, it will impact your travel around Whistler so be sure to plan ahead and keep an eye on their comprehensive travel guides to be released closer to the date of the event.

Wanderlust, August 3rd - 6th
Now is the time for transformation. Wanderlust Festival is an all-out, ecstatic celebration bringing together the world’s leading yoga teachers, top musical acts, renowned speakers, exquisite chefs, and thrilling performers.

Crankworx, August 11th - 20th
This world-famous festival celebrates the heart and soul of gravity-fuelled mountain biking. The best riders and biggest bike fans in the world come out for a week of gravity-fuelled racing, slopestyle competitions, Kidsworx, bike demos and the chance to shred Whistler’s trails with other like-minded bike fans. This two week event is one of the highlights of the Summer every year, with the village stroll completely transforming into a series of stalls and demo centres. The premier event is arguably the "Red Bull Joyride" held on the final day of the event and should not be missed!
